Igho Sanomi Appointed Honorary Chair of The International Salute To Dr Martin Luther King, Jr.

Mr Igho Charles Sanomi II has been appointed the Honorary Chair of the Dr Martin Luther King, Jr. International Salute Committee. The Committee hosts the annual International Salute to the Life and Legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., which takes place in Washington D.C. as part of the commemorative celebrations in honour of the birthday of Dr King.
Mr Sanomi, who was himself a recipient of the a prestigious Martin Luther King Legacy Award for International Service and Philanthropy in 2015, takes over the role of Chairman from the late Prof. Ade Adefuye, the Nigerian Ambassador to the United States.
Mr Sanomi joins a list of distinguished individuals who have been recognised for their contribution to business, humanity and politics by being honoured with the title of honorary Chair by the Institute for the Advancement of Multicultural & Minority Medicine (IAMMM).
Mr Sanomi takes on this role in advance of the Silver Anniversary of the International Salute which will take place on Sunday 17th January 2016, the 25th Anniversary of the Annual International Salute to the Life and Legacy of Dr Martin Luther King, Jr.
The weekend will be a celebration of 25 years of sharing Dr King’s historical work at home and abroad which annually brings together the global community.

“It is with great humility that I accept this honour which has been received by so many eminent people before me. Dr Martin Luther King, Jr. left an indelible mark on the consciousness of mankind. His message was timeless and therefore still resonates with all of us today. Dr King had a dream, and it is all of our responsibilities to realise his unfinished dream. I am happy to accept this honour and do my part in his memory.”
